T-Ball (Age 4 Before May 1)

A Fun First Step into Baseball

T-Ball introduces young players to team baseball in a positive, low-pressure environment.

Teams are small, allowing for hands-on coaching and parent involvement.The focus is on basic skills, teamwork, and having fun while learning the game.

This level focuses on short, engaging sessions designed for young attention spans.

Rookies (Ages 5-6)

Learning the Game Together

Rookies continue building fundamentals while learning game flow and teamwork. Players hit every inning, gain confidence at the plate, and begin understanding positions and basic rules. 

  • Games are 3 innings

  • Players hit every inning

  • Coach-pitched games with tee support as needed

  • No outs or scores recorded

  • Games and practices played on Rookie Field at Canterbury Yards

This level emphasizes confidence, fundamentals, and enjoyment of the game.

AA (Ages 7-8)

Building Skills & Game Understanding

AA introduces more structure and competition while maintaining a development-first approach. Players begin pitching and learn how games are played from start to finish.

  • 6-inning games

  • 3 outs per inning

  • Scores are recorded

  • Player pitching with coach support when needed

  • Practices scheduled by individual coaches 

  • Games played at Canterbury Yards

Players continue developing fundamentals while learning game rules and flow.

Growing Confidence & Competition

AAA builds on core skills while introducing more advanced rules and strategy. Players gain confidence in pitching, hitting, and situational play.

  • Player pitching only

  • Walks and stealing are introduced

  • Overthrow and pitcher control rules are in place

  • Practices scheduled by individual coaches 

  • Games played at Canterbury Yards

This level focuses on skill growth, decision-making, and team play.

Majors (Ages 11-13)

Preparing for the Next Level

Majors offers a full baseball experience with complete rules and increased competition. Players are challenged to grow as athletes, teammates, and leaders.

  • Full baseball rules, including lead-offs and steals

  • Increased game strategy and competition

  • Practices scheduled by individual coaches 

  • Games played at Canterbury Yards

T-Ball / Rookie

AA, AAA and Majors

Spring Season

  • Players participate in evaluations (Save the date! March 14 & 15)

  • Scores are used in a coach draft to create balanced, competitive teams

  • Specific team requests considered based on the request and the reason (i.e. anxiety, carpooling, etc.) but are not guaranteed

Fall Season

  • No evaluations or drafts

  • Teams are formed by the VP of In-House using prior scores and coach input

  • Goal remains balanced teams, fair competition, and skill development

  • Specific team requests considered based on the request and the reason (i.e. anxiety, carpooling, etc.) but are not guaranteed

Player Evaluations

Evaluations are not tryouts.
Every registered player will be placed on a team. Evaluations simply help our coaches create balanced teams and competitive games throughout the season.

March 14 - AA Evaluations
Last names A-L: 5:00-6:30 PM
Last names M-Z: 6:30-8:00 PM

March 15 - AAA & Majors Evaluations
AAA: 5:00-6:30 PM
Majors: 6:30-8:00PM

What to Expect

Players will:

✔ Check in and receive a number
✔ Try on uniform shirts and pants
✔ Parents will verify spelling of last names

Once evaluations begin, players will rotate through drills including:

  • Pitching

  • Fielding

  • Batting

  • Speed & Agility

These drills help coaches create balanced teams and competitive games throughout the season. Once teams are formed, coaches will reach out to teams with practice and game schedule information.

Our goal for evaluations is simple: create the best possible baseball experience for every player.

Clinics are a key part of player development at CLB.

  • Weekly clinics during Fall season

  • Summer and Winter Offseason clinics available to keep players improving year-round

  • Older players help mentor T-Ball and Rookie players

  • All players focus on skill development and repetition
