BULLDOGS TRAVEL BASEBALL
Crystal Lake Baseball offers a full-time travel baseball program for advanced baseball players ages 8-12. Players must tryout and be selected in order to participate in the travel program. Crystal Lake Bulldogs Travel baseball includes indoor winter training, professional instruction, full uniform and equipment package, full regular season (8u-12u) games, and multiple tournaments scheduled for each team.
The Bulldogs begin indoor practices in December in our private 10,000 square foot training facility with regular season games beginning in April. The season will end in July with the exception of the 11U level which participates in the MCYSA World Series as a host team through the 1st week of August. The 12U level may participate in the Cooperstown tournament experience, but it is at the discretion of the manager.
Our Bulldogs play in local and out of state/overnight tournaments selected by each team. The Bulldogs will play their home games at Crystal Lake Baseball’s existing facility, Canterbury Yards located behind Nick’s Pizza at Canterbury Elementary School.

Hitting and Pitching- We are working on securing a new hitting instructor this year. However, it is important to understand that we won’t hire a trainer just to say we have one, and quality is the key. Our pitching clinics have been run by Joe Maurer in the past with good success and we are planning on using him again this year.
Classroom- We will have the players spending time with their managers and coaches introducing drills, reviewing mechanics, offensive and defensive situations, team signs and position specific techniques in a classroom setting.
Training begins in early December and ends in late March. We are working to have a decrease in shared hours this year for each team. Our hope is to actually be able to completely eliminate shared hours in the near future, if not this year. Safety is a priority for us at all times and we have to be especially cognizant of player safety during winter indoor training due to the nature of these training facilities themselves. Teams typically have 2-3 practices a week during winter training.
Tournaments-Generally, teams play 5 or 6 tournaments with 1 or 2 of them being “overnight” trips. League games- MCBL (Mc Henry County Baseball League) participation is at the manager’s discretion. Usually 18-20 games played early April through early July. The home games (8-10) will be played on the “Bulldog Field” at Canterbury Fields in Crystal Lake. Each team has a week night slot and a Saturday and a Sunday time slot which they can use for practices or games.
$1300 to be paid in a $400 down payment at time of acceptance of your position on the team August 1, 2017 and 6 monthly payments of $150 September 2017 through February 2018. The fee was increased $100 per player this year to give us the opportunity to decrease shared indoor training time and make some improvements to the Bulldog field. This fee increase will result in a 100% tangible benefit to our players. Included in the total fee are costs for indoor training time, trainer fees, uniforms and equipment bags, umpires for home games, field maintenance and preparation (dirt, limestone, lights, chalk, mowing etc..), training equipment (tees, baseballs etc..), and tournament allowances among other things.
